Teacher Appreciation Gift for Male Teachers by Today’s Creative Blog

How exciting to be apart of the annual Teacher Appreciation Gift event again!

I’m Kim from Today’s Creative Blog, where I blog about all things creative and today I’m sharing my Etched Glass Mustach Beer Mug gift that will be the perfect teacher appreciation gift for male teachers!

Teacher Appreciation Gift for Male Teachers

Teacher Appreciation Gift for Male Teachers

My freshman son has had mostly male teachers the past couple of years, making it difficult to be creative when it comes to gift giving. Depending on how you look at it, I suppose that could be easier. Most men are just happy with a gift card and a simple note. I just can’t do it.  This creative blogger couldn’t possibly just send a note with a gift card…..I mean, what if the word got out?  It could ruin my street cred.

My son has a rather boisterous male teacher for his language arts class who loves our local microbrews.  He’s the type of teacher who doesn’t think twice about suddenly clearing his desk with one sweep of the arm so he can place his chair on top of his desk to read one of the classics to the kids. He certainly gets and keeps their attention and the kids love him. When my son forgot a portion of his homework, he stated “Lucas, good thing you don’t drive me nuts”! Which makes this beer mug and Nuts Printable the perfect and thoughtful gift for him. I’ll add a gift card to one of our local microbrew restaurants with this etched mustache mug full of peanuts and I KNOW he’s going to love it.

I thought glass etching would be great for adding a mustache to the beer mug. It’s so simple and doesn’t take a lot of time. I etched the cutest fish bowl that would also be a great teacher gift for an elementary classroom.

How to Etch Glass

1. Gather your supplies – Glass, vinyl or contact paper, Glass etching solution (I use Armour Etch), paint brush and possibly rubber gloves.

Teacher Appreciation Gift for Male Teachers | SkipToMyLou.org

2. Cut your template using a vinyl cutting machine, or using contact paper with a downloaded Mustache shape. (you can find thousands of mustache templates when you google)

3. Place your template on the glass where you want the mustache to be. Rub the template firmly so the edge is sealed for a clean etched line.

Teacher Appreciation Gift for Male Teachers | SkipToMyLou.org

4. Using a paint brush, liberally spread the etching paste where you want the glass to look frosty. The directions suggest using rubber gloves when applying the solution.Let it sit for 5-10 minutes.

5. Rinse. Rinse under running water while wiping with an old cloth. (do not allow the paste to come in prolonged contact with a porcelain sink.)

6. Remove template and dry.

7. Add adorable NUTS printable to the handle, fill with peanuts and you’ve got yourself a great gift!

This no fuss gift will most likely be a welcomed gesture for male teachers.

You can download the NUTS printable on Today’s Creative Blog.

Teacher Appreciation Week is the first full week in May. Through all of April I am excited to share some amazing ideas from some of the most wonderful bloggers for my Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas series! It’s a great month! You will be totally prepared with ideas to thank your teachers!

Hi Skip to My Lou readers! I’m Katie from Sweet Rose Studio and I am beyond thrilled to be here sharing a fun Teacher Appreciation gift idea with you!

Back in the day before I was a momma, I was an elementary school teacher. I absolutely adored being in the classroom with eight year olds each day; they were still at an age where they loved being at school and would give me big squeezy hugs each morning. The one thing I didn’t enjoy so much was the amount of my own personal funds that I had to use to make sure we had adequate supplies.

Now that I’m on the other side of the education fence, I really try to supply my kids’ teachers with as many of the things they need to make their class run. Things like books, rewards, pencils, and glue sticks are always needed in a young classroom and Teacher Appreciation Week is a perfect time to replenish their diminishing stock. I put together this sweet gift for my son’s Kindergarten teacher and created a set of free printable tags to share with you!

In My Book Youre Top of the Charts STML 2

The gift that I put together has a book for the teacher’s class library, plus a few reading supplies that I know that she uses on a daily basis in her class. Why not give the teacher some things that you know he or she has been spending their own money on?

I’ve included four different color options for the tags so there’s something there for everyone. Simply choose the one that works best for your gift!

Katie and family_09162012_031 thumbnailI am so blessed to be a wife to my high school sweetheart and mother to our two sweet, crazy kids. In my past life I was an elementary school    teacher, but now I am a stay-at-home-momma by trade and absolutely adore what I do. I do have to say that I’m not great at limiting myself to doing one single thing though. I really do love anything remotely crafty and creative and I have a passion for party planning and styling. I’m trying to teach myself to sew one stitch at a time and you can regularly find me with a sippy cup in one hand and a glue gun in the other with my camera hanging around my neck. I am a self-professed Oreo and Chapstick addict and I’m excited to be delving in Project Life for the very first time.

Life is short; why not?

Next week is Teacher Appreciation Week! I have loved the amazing ideas that have come all month long from some of the most wonderful bloggers for my Teacher Appreciation Gift Ideas series! It’s been a great month! You will be totally prepared with ideas to thank your teachers!

Hi! I’m Angie, and I’m thrilled to be here. I’m a mama to a lot, and even though writing is my passion, mothering and crafting is something I’m also passionate about. I used to write a lot about motherhood and show off my kids much to their chagrin, but these days I mostly  showcase partiescraft ideas, recipes, hair and nail tutorials, and offer free printables at Seven Clown Circus.

Teacher Appreciation week is right around the corner!  I’m kind of, sort of in denial.  This means the school year is almost over and I don’t see how that’s possible.  I just ADORE my kids teachers and it seems like each year the school supplies keep getting skimpier and skimpier.  So, this idea is a fun, super easy and inexpensive way to show your child’s teacher you are thinking of them that helps replenish their supplies.  Just download the free printable that says, “you are A+ at keeping me on POINT“,  tie it onto a bundle of pencils with burlap and ribbon, and voila, you have a great gift for teacher!

I’d recommend printing on white card stock.  Then cut out and tie on bundle of sharpened pencils given during teacher appreciation week!  I used burlap and ribbon to tie on the printable.  Easy peasy!

Thanks for having me, Cindy!

Even though my son is now in high school, I still like to send a small gift of thanks. Sadly, those poor high school teachers don’t get much in the way of thanks and I know it makes their day when something special is delivered. Teacher Appreciation Free Printable - Gift Card Holder and tag | TodaysCreativeBlog.net
This free printable can be used as a gift tag, post card, or fold it for a gift card holder. It also comes in a variety of colors.

What you’ll need:

  • Inkjet Printer
  • White 8.5 x 11 cardstock
  • Paper trimmer or scissors
  • Washi Tape or Stapler
  1. Download and print out the desired color.
  2. Trim each card
  3. Fold in half and secure with washi tape or staples. If you’re not slipping it into another card, be sure to secure the sides so the card doesn’t fall out.
  4. Using for a tag? Use a hole punch to punch a hole in the corner and tie with bakers twine or ribbon.Teacher Appreciation Free Printable - Gift Card Holder and tag | TodaysCreativeBlog.net

Teachers at this level are much easier to buy for. Baked goods (like my cake mix chocolate chip cookies) or gift cards usually do the trick. Actually that pretty much works for all teachers, but I did get more creative with the gift giving when my son was little.Teacher Appreciation Card Holder 3

This Gift Card Holder is easy for my son to deliver without unwanted attention from his peers…..yes, they worry about that kind of stuff. But believe me, they don’t want you delivering it! I will often just drop it off at the office to save us both.

My printable contributor on Today’s Creative Blog first made these for me last year and I just loved them! Click Here are more Printable Gift Card styles.

Another great way is add it to your gift as a gift tag or post card.

Give a gift card with these colorful teacher appreciation gift card holder.

Hi! I’m Jen from 100 Directions. I’m excited to share with you another Teacher Appreciation gift idea! I always struggle with gift ideas. At our school, the classes collect money at the beginning of the year and then use that throughout the year to buy various class gifts for the teachers. We also have little questionnaires all the teachers fill out to things like their favorite snacks, colors, activities, etc. But even then, it’s hard for me to decide. So in our house, we really focus on encouraging the kids to share a little note, draw a picture or make treats. So today I have a free printable card kit and gift tag you can use to accompany any gift you choose. The kids can help assemble the card and tag and even share a note if they’d like

Make a Teacher Appreciation Card

This Printable card kit comes with all the pieces you need to create your own gift card holder as well as a layered gift tag. You can pair this handmade card with your favorite gift ideas. Package up some home made treats and tie the gift tag on, or find that perfect bunch of daisies and add in a the card. Just the little touch of a handmade card to say thank you can mean the world to our teachers!

Materials you’ll need to make this card:

To make your own card:

  1. Print and cut out all the pieces to create your own card. You can use scissors to make rounded corners or use a rounded corner punch.
  2. To create a gift card pocket inside your card, cut out the inside message and apply glue to three sides, left, right and bottom. Adhere in place at the top inside of the card. Allow to dry.
  3. Choose the greeting message you’d like to use, cut it out and adhere however you like.

That’s it!

Make a gift card holder inside your card

The front of the card features a little painted red apple with a heart in the middle. There’s a handwritten script message that says “thank you for all you do”. This card was originally hand painted by me using watercolor paints and then converted to digital art so I could share it with you.

Please welcome Kiki from Kiki and Company…

Hi everyone! Kiki from Kiki and Company and I am thrilled to be here to share another fun teacher appreciation gift idea. I love to give sweet and simple gifts..and it is really fun when I can wrap them up thoughtfully!

Teacher Appreciation Pizza Box Card from kiki and company

I LOVE this idea of a pizza box holding a sweet message, card and gift card for the teachers who have been so influential in my kiddos lives.

Teacher Appreciation Pizza Box Card from kiki and company. Love this!

SUPPLIES FOR PIZZA BOX CARD

Teacher Appreciation Pizza Box Card from kiki and company. Super fun!

DIRECTIONS

  1. Download, print and cut out printables. I printed mine on a gloss cover (heavy) cardstock which gave it some good weight.
  2. Score on each of the white lines, cut on the red (wait on cutting out the red circle yet).
  3. I always like to fold on my lines first, so do that over the whole card.
  4. Start gluing on the little tabs part first. Fold them in, glue to the sides and then fold over the tops and glue the side flaps down.
  5. Fold over the front panel and cut out the circle. This is easier to do right now. Place glue on the flap and secure it to make your box.
  6. Glue in the two squares. I placed the “Any way you slice it..”on the lid and the gift card holder on the bottom. Glue the strap on the edges and place down over banner. This will now hold your gift card.
  7. Fill it with a gift card to your favorite pizza shop or ANY fun gift card will work and give it to your favorite teacher!
  8. You can tie it up with some cute string or use some washi tape to help it stay closed.
  9. You are done!

Please welcome Emily from Is This Really My Life…

Hi! My name is Emily and I blog all the things (but mostly food…and mostly desserts) over at Is This Really My Life. I am super excited to be guest posting on Skip to My Lou again, although I went a bit out of my comfort zone by doing something more on the crafty side. But it was totally worth it because this Lindt truffles teacher appreciation gift turned out pretty dang cute.

.

I mean, just look at the saying on the printable gift tag. How clever is that? And yes, I’m totally patting myself on the back because I usually deal in eggs, butter and sugar, not mason jars and gift tags.

.
Lindt Truffles Teacher Appreciation Gift
.

What I love most about this teacher appreciation gift, aside from the tag, is how quick and easy it is. You need only five things:

  • Mason jar
  • Lindt truffles (assorted flavors)
  • Foil cupcake liner
  • White raffia ribbon
  • Gift tag

.
That’s it! Assembling the teacher gift is a breeze.

  1. Fill the mason jar with truffles.
  2. Turn the cupcake liner upside down and center it over the lid; place the lid on top of the jar.
  3. Hold liner and lid in place as you screw on the ring.
  4. Wrap ring with white raffia ribbon and attach tag.

.
Seriously, how easy is that? It’s totally my kind of DIY teacher gift.

You can see how the red foil cupcake liner adds the right pop of color to the mason jar.

While we’re at it, let’s get a closeup of that super awesome gift tag.

Let’s not forget that mason jar is full of the most amazing candy. I could eat Lindt truffles by the bag full. Did you know they have a new coconut flavor? TO DIE FOR.
